Great Singapore Sale Saves lives

Bustling around with women pushing by to grab the latest offers and deals. Electronic shops filled to the brim with people holding various electronics and students running around buying whatever they need for school. This can only mean one thing. The season for Great Singapore Sale is here. Everybody would probably think, is it not just a clearance sale that we can get whenever we want? To which I answer along with the most of society “Absolutely not.”.

It was the beginning of my senior year, and the talk of Prom night was already all over the place. Being a plain-Jane at the time the dress was decided on early on to take one hassle off my back because of the idea of ‘O’ Levels was hanging over my head. As the year went by however, things changed, and I was not satisfied with the initial dress that I had agreed on.

Dresses at that point of time were at crazy prices, minimum of over 70 bucks for simple dress. So, with my head hung low I gave up and decided to face my fate of wearing an okay-feeling dress to what was (at that time) the night I would remember for the rest of my life. Soon I was back in Singapore, with family friends that love (and I mean Love) to shop. As mentioned, not a shopaholic. So, being the good friend I am, I followed. That was when I saw the dress of my dreams (cheesy I know).

The design was a sleek black dress with a bikini style back which was essentially something of a bareback. It had a slit on both sides of the dress for easier movement and with a dress that fulfilled the requirements of being sleek, sexy and comfy? That had to cost an arm, leg and possibly a heart. Holding my breath, I flipped over the price tag. Low and behold, the price reflected was a mere 70 over dollars. But wait, there was a beautiful red strip with the most beautiful word in the world of shopping. “Sale”. In the end, it only came to 29 dollars!

Which proves my point:

GSS saves us.
