Long hours, no rest (or peace) and human beings practically at war against time and each other in the attempt to get their hands on whatever that has caught their eye.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we bring you the holy grail of shopping adventures and misadventures.
This guide ultimately decides your fate - will you go home as a traumatised victim or a survivor?
#1 Have ample H2O and nutrients
Three words. Water and food.
Please, and we mean please, stuff your face or at the very least have a hearty meal to embark on the greatest, most non-painful shopping experience of your life. You do not want to face the terrors of passionate shopaholics at 10 in the morning on an empty stomach. Also, you’re both probably going to be carrying an insane number of bags the entire day, so pack up on those energy bars.

#2 Bring a chair
And sit anywhere you want.
Trust us, it will get crowded and all the seats will be taken. Fret not! Just simply bring your own seat and sit wherever or whenever your thighs/calves/ankles/feet/toes decide to give up on you - It’s better to be safe than sorry! Who cares if you get stared at for lugging a foldable chair around. If it makes you feel any better, hoist an inflatable sofa from Crate and Barrel over your brand-clad shoulders. Fashion a la Paris - work that portable life-saver!

#3 Wear comfortable shoes
You’re in for a lot walking.
Missed gym-day? Take this GSS experience as a ‘leg day with a bonus’: you are doing some shopping as well. Or at the very least, you are doing an amazing job as a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife by accompanying your significant other in his/her retail adventures. So put on your worn out gym shoes or anything else that’s comfortable and work on those sexy calves! Golden rule: Whenever he/she runs, you’d best run, too.
#4 An affair with Google maps is perfectly okay
Don’t worry, it’s exactly what you think it is.
There’s nothing more efficient than knowing where to go and how to get there. You wouldn’t want to ruin the mood with all the annoying traffic (including human beings) before the storm/crowd hits now, would you? Search the fastest and the most efficient route to your location before embarking and you’ll thank yourself later.
