When people think of Nasi Lemak, they think of a dish that consists of Malay fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. While it one of the most well-known Malay dish that can even be found in Indonesia, Brunei or Southern Thailand.

But what happen when Singapore's beloved Malay dish intertwines with a fast food chain?

A month ago, Macdonald had recreated the Nasi Lemak to a Nasi Lemak Burger which was launched on 13 July for a limited of time to celebrate Singapore 52nd Birthday.

Rice inside a burger or..?

When people first mentioned about Nasi Lemak burger, my very first thought was that there will Nasi inside the burger. Of course, it turns out that there isn't any Nasi inside the burger.

In brief, The Nasi Lemak Burger costs $9.20 icomes with a Cris Cut fries, Bandung Mcfizz and Nasi Lemak Burger. Inside the Nasi Lemak Burger, sambal chili, chicken, fried egg and cucumber are the main important ingredient.

Verdict

The sambal chili was not spicy it tasted very sweet. The chicken was very tender. The fried egg is different from the usual McDonald breakfast burger as the egg inside the burger was fully cooked. The Cris Cut Fries tasted like any regular McDonald's fries. The Bandung Mcfizz is made with rose syrup and sprite which is one of the simplest drink that they have created and it really taste like Bandung.

Most Singaporeans like the Nasi Lemak burger which been sold out on 26 of July across all islandwide in Singapore and it was one of the most famous burger in Mcdonalds. The Nasi Lemak Burger had trended on all social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Some people were disappointed that they didn't had a chance to eat the Nasi Lemak Burger as it was sold out less than two weeks.
