Get The Look - Justice League Inspired Makeup
When arts meets inspiration, that’s when creation is born. Being a makeup artist and a DC fan, I took the colours and characteristics from some of my personal favourite superheroes to create these themed looks. These eyeshadow looks are easily wearable, fun to play around with and definitely meant to slay.
Batman Eyeshadow Tutorial
To get the Batsy eyes look, I took inspiration from Batman’s iconic logo. Thus, I used colours such as yellow and black to create this eyeshadow look. I wanted to get that blade effect on my eyes and have the bright, sharp, all-ready-to-slay Gotham City look.
I applied a warm bright shade of yellow eyeshadow as my base and then went in with a matte black eyeliner to carve out my eyeshadow into Batsy eyes.
If drawing a bold black wing makes you feel like a boss, try taking your eyeliner skills to this level and feel like superhero instead. Start off by drawing a bold wing that goes up to your crease, draw right above your crease and pull it till the inner corners of your eyes. Line it below your eyes too and pull that line up side to your wing. That’s it and if you mess up, go in with a concealer and clean up the edges. Finish it off with mascara.
Stay awesome Gotham.
Aquaman Eyeshadow Tutorial
I really like the colours of Aquaman and played around it to create my own version. This is one of those artsy looks that is very wearable, as well as to make statement at a fashion event. It is also very fun to create. You can get as messy and colourful as you want. It is like being free in the open ocean and yet safe.
For this look, I started by mapping my eyes with a green colour eyeshadow. To create a bomb of colours on my eyelids, I picked three eyeshadow colors - blue, green, purple. However, you can use as many colours as you like and mix it up! You can even add gold glitter to it to repent the Sun shining over the sea. Finally, to get the mermaid scales effect, simple draw upside down "U"s (or semi-circles) overlapping each other, all over your eyelid till your crease.
Highlight the inner comers of the eyes and brow bone with white shimmer eyeshadow. Then fill your lower eyelids with a copper brown colour to bring out the eyeshadow look. Add on a black eyeliner and mascara to seal the deal.
I like this expressive look where you can flaunt textures from matte, shiny, glossy and smooth, all at once.
Wonder Woman Eyeshadow Tutorial
It’s time to look wonderful with this Wonder Woman inspired eyeshadow. This look is my favourite of them all. I was absolutely honoured to be wearing these strong colours together and felt powerful with this look.
I used Wonder Woman’s primary colours such as, red, blue and gold to create this eyeshadow look. I started by blending out a blue colour eyeshadow from the crease and on my lower eyelids. Then, added a velvet red colour to my upper eyelids. To merge the powers of these colours, I went in with a little bit of wine-purple shade to create depth in the crease.
I applied mascara and drew on a boss wing to take on the world.
For prefect eye structure, I highlighted inner corners of my eyes and brow done with white shimmer eyeshadow. Doesn’t it just take your breath away when Wonder Woman swings her sword and it shines as though it catches rays of Sun and the whole movement just slays? Drawing a line using sparkly gold right below my wing and along my lower eyelids, I felt the same way every time I blinked my eyes.
