April marks the onset of spring, the season of birth, the season of joy. After long, cosy winter days, spring brings with it the energy to rejuvenate and the want to embrace the beauty of it.

With bright sunshine and fresh air, spring in a way enables an individual to come back to life and enjoy it to the fullest. With warm shades of clothing to waking up to the melodious chirping of the songbirds, little details around us may tend to surprise you. Not only do humans feel the energetic vibe of the season, but so do animals. Animals that spend the cold days in hibernation come out of their temporary homes and the ones who traveled to warmer regions, come back.

Several countries around the world celebrate the return of spring and the blossoming of nature. The blush pink cherry trees in Japan are the highlight of this beautiful season. In fact, the annual blossoming of these trees are an event of national significance. People come together to celebrate and indulge in “Hanami” i.e. cherry blossom viewing. This is valuable for it is symbolic to the transience of life in Buddhism.

In other countries, this season brings with it the festival of Easter, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his victory over physical death. People can witness colourful bunnies and eggs everywhere, pertaining to fertility, rebirth and reproduction. Good Friday, occurring two days before Easter Sunday is also observed as a public holiday. Thus, spring is also regarded as the season of holidays and religious significance.

Spring in Singapore is like describing any other season for this beautiful little island experiences warm tropical weather all around the year. However, spring is the hottest of all, encouraging people to hit the alluring beaches to relax and cherish the sunshine. People often escape to other private islands such as Batam and Pulau Joyo to unwind from the busy routines of daily life.
Singapore also offers a wide range of fun-filled and frolic activities for the inhabitants to engage in. Thus, spring is widely accepted as the season to start afresh, to unwind and to enjoy the little beauties of nature; to watch the fresh flowers bloom and to observe the brown landscapes turn plush green; to celebrate and to embrace life.
